1. Overview

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App is designed around local evidence storage. The app records parked-car evidence clips and still frames on your device when motion, sound, or impact is detected. Internet access is used for optional Google Drive backup, optional Gmail alerts, website access, purchase services provided by the App Store or Google Play, and subscription-entitlement diagnostics provided through RevenueCat.

This Privacy Policy explains what information BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App processes, where it is stored, and the choices you have.

2. Operator and Contact

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App is provided by ICHITAP. For privacy questions, deletion requests, or legal requests, contact us at support@blackshisa.com.

3. Information We Process

Information Purpose Where it is stored or sent
Camera frames, video clips, and still images To monitor the parked vehicle, detect motion, and preserve evidence around a trigger. Stored locally on your device. Sent to your own Google Drive only if you enable Drive backup. A still image may be attached to your own Gmail alert only if you enable Gmail alerts.
Microphone audio levels and audio in clips To detect loud or relevant sounds and record audio as part of an evidence clip. Processed and stored locally unless optional Drive backup or Gmail alerts are enabled.
Motion sensor data To detect impact, vibration, or contact with the vehicle. Processed on the device. Event metadata may note that an impact event occurred.
Event metadata To show event type, date, duration, trigger details, upload status, and related app settings. Stored locally. Included in optional Drive backup when enabled.
Google account information and authorization To let you link Google Drive, show the linked account, check Drive storage quota, upload files, and send Gmail alerts from your linked account. Handled through Google Sign-In and Google APIs. The app requests the Google Drive drive.file scope for files and folders it creates in your Drive and the Gmail gmail.send scope for Gmail alerts. Depending on the account-linking flow, these scopes may be requested together.
Gmail alert content To send an email alert to the linked Gmail account when an event is finalized. Sent through the Gmail API from your linked Gmail account to that same account. The email may include event type, time, and a JPEG still image.
Device media library access To save selected evidence images or videos to the iOS Photos library or Android media library when you request it. On iOS, the app uses add-only Photos permission. On Android, requested exports are written through Android MediaStore to Pictures/BlackShisa or Movies/BlackShisa.
Subscription and purchase status To display offers and determine feature access after purchases, trials, renewals, cancellations, or refunds if subscriptions are offered. Purchase processing is handled by Apple through the App Store on iOS or Google through Google Play on Android. The app also sends an automatically generated anonymous app user ID and queries RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement status used for diagnostics. We do not receive your payment card details.
Feedback you choose to send from the app To improve detection sensitivity and the app in general. Sending feedback is entirely optional and is never required to use any feature. Sent to a developer-operated endpoint on Google Cloud (Firebase) and stored there. A message contains only what you selected (detection type, sensitivity level, and whether it felt too sensitive or not sensitive enough), any free text you typed, the app version, the operating system, and your app language. It is not linked to your account, your device name, or your purchases.
Anonymous problem reports (crash reports and which step failed) To find defects that we cannot see from our own testing, such as a crash during recording or an account-linking step that never completes. This is how we learn that a feature is failing for real users. Sent to a developer-operated endpoint on Google Cloud (Firebase) and stored there. A report contains only: (a) a crash report consisting of the exception type name and the code locations in the stack trace, or the reason the operating system recorded for ending the app process; (b) which step of the app was reached, chosen from a fixed list such as "monitoring started" or "account linking failed"; (c) a failure reason code chosen from a fixed list such as "timed out" or "permission denied"; (d) how many milliseconds a step took; and (e) the app version, the operating system, and a random identifier generated inside the app. There is no free-text field. We never send video, still images, audio, file names, file contents, your email address, your Google account, your device name, your advertising identifier, or your location. You can turn this off at any time in the app settings under "Problem reports".
App settings and local diagnostic information To remember language, detection settings, backup status, notification limits, and app behavior. Stored locally on your device unless you choose to send information to support.

On Android, BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App requests camera permission, microphone permission when sound detection is enabled, and notification permission on Android versions with runtime notification permission. Evidence is stored in the app's private storage. The current Android release does not request location or general photo, video, or storage access permissions.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not store your evidence videos on a developer-operated evidence server.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
  • We do not request location permission in the current iOS or Android release.
  • We do not intentionally collect contacts, health data, or precise location data.
  • The in-app feedback form does not ask for your name, email address, or any other contact details, and it does not attach your account identifier, device name, or advertising identifier.
  • Anonymous problem reports never contain video, still images, audio, file names, file contents, your email address, your Google account, your device name, your advertising identifier, or your location. They carry no free-text field, so nothing you type can be included.

5. Google API Data

Google Drive backup and Gmail alerts are optional. If you choose to use them, BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App uses Google API data only to provide or improve the user-facing features you enabled: linking your account, backing up your BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App files to your own Drive, checking Drive quota, avoiding duplicate uploads, and sending Gmail alerts.

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell Google user data, and does not transfer Google user data to data brokers. Human access to Google user data is limited to cases where you ask us for support, security investigation, legal compliance, or where you explicitly consent.

6. Third-Party Services

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App may interact with these third-party services when you use the relevant feature:

  • Apple (iOS): App Store distribution and purchase or subscription processing, iOS permission controls, and Photos library save actions.
  • Google: Google Play distribution and purchase or subscription processing on Android, plus Google Sign-In, Google Drive API, Gmail API, and related authentication services for optional backup and email alerts.
  • Google Cloud (Firebase): hosting and storage for the optional in-app feedback you choose to send.
  • RevenueCat (iOS and Android): an anonymous app user ID and subscription or entitlement information for subscription diagnostics. Purchases continue to be completed by the applicable app store. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or with your consent. Optional Drive backups are stored in your Google Drive account, and Gmail alerts are stored in your Gmail account according to your Google settings.

7. Retention

  • Local event clips, still images, and metadata remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, or the app removes old events when device free space falls below its storage threshold.
  • Copies that you explicitly save to the iOS Photos library or Android media library are managed separately and may remain after you delete the in-app event or uninstall the app, until you delete those copies using device controls.
  • Google Drive backup files remain in your Google Drive until you delete them or revoke access through Google.
  • Gmail alert emails remain in your Gmail account until you delete them.
  • App settings remain on your device until you reset them, sign out, delete the app, or the operating system removes them.
  • Support emails are retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep security records, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Feedback sent from the app is retained as long as reasonably necessary to act on it and to compare it against later releases.

8. Your Choices

  • You can deny camera, microphone, or notification permissions in your device settings and deny add-only Photos permission in iOS settings, although some features may not work without the relevant permission.
  • You can delete events inside the app.
  • You can delete copies saved to the iOS Photos library or Android media library using device controls.
  • You can unlink Google Drive in the app settings, disable Gmail alerts, or revoke access from your Google Account settings.
  • You can delete backed-up files from Google Drive and alert emails from Gmail.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple subscription settings or Google Play Subscriptions, depending on where you purchased.
  • Sending feedback from the app is optional. You choose what to write, and you can simply not send it.
  • You can turn off anonymous problem reports in the app settings under "Problem reports". Turning it off also discards any report that has not been sent yet.
  • You can contact us at support@blackshisa.com for privacy questions or requests.

9. Security

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App uses the operating system sandbox, app-private local storage, platform permission controls, and HTTPS connections to the third-party services described above. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so you should protect your device with a passcode or screen lock and keep your Apple and Google accounts secure.

10. Children

BlackShisa - Parking Dashcam App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, laws, or third-party services change. If a material change affects how we use personal information, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
